1981

Tecres is born founded by Mr. Giovanni Faccioli

After an important experience, with the foundation of one of the main players in the world of traumatology, Giovanni Faccioli founds Tecres.

Cemex®, our first bone cement, is launched

Cemex is the bone cement that revolutionizes the market with a 3:1 powder-to-liquid ratio for enhanced safety and performance.

Our product is sold abroad for the first time, in Japan

In 1989, our products were used in 2 countries. Today we have a worldwide presence in more than 70 countries.

Cemex® System is born

It’s the first closed system pre-loaded with bone cement. For the first time, a bone cement is being delivered in a fully sealed system, protecting the OR staff and ensuring perfect mixing.

Spacer Patent

The preformed hip spacer is patented for the first time in the world.

1996

The first preformed spacer with gentamicin is introduced:
Spacer®-G

The invention of the Preformed Spacer represents a major breakthrough in the treatment of periprosthetic infections, and have significantly improved patients' quality of life.

1997

We obtain ISO 9001 certification

We at Tecres are extremely focused on the quality of our production processes and the certifications we have obtained confirm our attitude.

1998

First inspection by the FDA

For the first time we receive an inspection by the Food and Drug Administration.

Spacer®-K, Cranos® and Mendec® Cranio are born

We are the first to provide a preformed knee spacer loaded with Gentamicin. We also enter the world of cranioplasty with our Patient Specific Implant service and with our moldable acrylic resin.

2001

First 510(k) for bone cement

This authorization allows us to start selling our bone cement in the U.S.

2002

Mendec® Spine is launched

We start to produce acrylic resins for filling the vertebral bodies. Mendec Spine is the acrylic resin for stabilizing vertebral fractures, and is one of the products that has helped write our success story.

2003

We get the authorization to sell in China

Tecres never stops and obtains authorization from China FDA, entering one of the leading markets in the world.

25 years of Tecres

For our 25th birthday we hold an international event at the Gran Guardia Palace in Verona, entitled: "Infection and local treatment in orthopaedic surgery".

Vancogenx® bone cement is released

We deliver another innovative product, indicated in cases of MRSA or MRSE infections: the first cement with double antibiotic, Gentamicin and Vancomycin.

Cal-Cemex® is a revolutionary reinforced bone substitute with and hybrid formula, that combines the advantages of each of its components.

35 years of Tecres and 100.000 spacer

On the occasion of our 35th birthday, we reach the incredible milestone of 100,000 implanted spacers worldwide.

Demetra Holding is founded

Thanks to Tecres, the world's largest independent manufacturer of acrylic resins for the medical sector is born. In the same year a Joint Venture agreement is signed for the production of bone cements in China exclusively for the domestic market.
